This photo and text installation was created as part of my Fine Art Degree dissertation project and was displayed at Spazju Kreattiv.
Dimensions: Approximately 250cm by 200cm.
Description of the work: Sherise's creative ideas are primarily expressed through drawing using mainly charcoal and graphite. She recently started to use photography as a medium for her projects about everyday issues related to women. Her current research focuses on domestic violence and femicide. This theme is used as a starting point and aims at making women's voices heard. She believes that many women that go through domestic violence constantly fear for their lives every day even in their own homes. Her last work consists of a series of visuals captured by a surveillance camera, portraying the mundane moments of women's daily life. Through a compilation of 35 photographs and accompanying texts, she sheds light on the distressing reality of the number of instances in which women endure assault prior seeking assistance.
